An overall Safety officer should be appointed for any event. The person to whom incidents are immediately reported to. They should be involved in the event from the initial planning stages through to the end of the event.
There should be a common understanding of the events' safety policy and procedures when dealing with safety and emergency personnel.
The tasks undertaken by the safety officer include:
- Act in relation to safety matters as overall responsible figure for all aspects of safety
- Need to approve all safety arrangements of the event before the actual event.
